Each year, the "Parade of Boats" marks the start of the Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix and the 4th of July holiday for many Sarasota locals. Race teams, crews and their multi-million dollar boats parade down Main St in front of a crowd of over 20,000 race fans, spectators and partygoers. Event organizers, sponsors and special guests were also in the mix of boats, cars, motorcycles, floats, limousines, monster trucks and military personnel transports. You name it, it was probably making it's way down Main St Thursday night.The conclusion of the parade opens the streets up to the Offshore Block Party where sponsors, race teams, vendors and the multitudes of locals and visitors enjoyed food, beverages and live music until midnight.
